Booking a holiday home in Puglia: what to check in the total price
16 October 2026

Compare the complete stay total, not the first nightly price you see. Use the same dates, number of guests and accommodation type when comparing a direct quote with another booking channel.
Check every part of the quote
Look for the nightly subtotal, cleaning charge, service charge and any tax payable separately. Ask which items are included and when any remaining amount is due. A low nightly rate does not by itself mean a lower final bill.
Keep payment and confirmation separate
A reservation confirmation records the booking. A payment receipt records a payment. If an email confirms your stay, check separately whether a deposit or balance has been paid and what the host expects next. Use the payment instructions agreed with the host and verify unexpected changes through a known contact route.
Read the cancellation conditions for your booking
Do not assume a direct booking has the same cancellation conditions as an offer on another platform. Ask for the applicable deadlines and charges before reserving. Keep the written conditions with your confirmation. Refund eligibility depends on those conditions and the rules applicable to the booking.
Confirm what your group needs
Tell the host about children, bed arrangements, stairs, parking or another essential requirement. Check whether requested extras cost more. Confirm guest numbers before comparing prices.
Using the Maresole preview
Rates marked as preview examples still need the owner’s approval. Draft booking information is not a final offer. Review booking information and contact Giovanni for the terms applicable to a real stay.
Check dates and the displayed total, or ask Giovanni for clarification. There is no promise that direct booking is always cheaper. Compare the actual total and conditions for the same stay.
